Profiles

VSpace uses Profiles to define the layout of the generated HTML pages. A Profile is a set of template files used in the generation process. To create or edit a Profile you have to switch to the Profile Management Work Environment (see image below) by selecting Work Environment >> Profile Management from the main menu. To learn more about Work Environments see here.

On the left side of the window there are all available Profiles listed. Above the list there are two buttons for adding new profiles ( ) and deleting existing ones ( ).

Up to version 0.94.0Beta a Profile consists of four templates:

  • a template for the HTML page generation for Scenes,
  • a template for the HTML page generation for Slides and Branching Points,
  • a template for the HTML page generation for the copyright page and
  • a template for the generation of the main CSS file.
The content of these templates is shown on the right side of the window when a Profile is selected in the list. Notice: To modify these templates you should have some knowledge in programming websites.

Above the templates there are two buttons for saving all template files of a profile ( ) and saving only the currently visible one ( ). Attention: The keyboard shortcut CMD+S (OS X)/Ctrl+S (Windows) will save all profile files of the selected profile, not only the current one.

To select a specific Profile for a Virtual Space use the Common Properties Dialog. Select Profiles in the list on the left side of the dialog and use the pull-down menu to select a Profile.
